Visitors to Bluewater Energy Services' OTC 2008 booth 1723 can learn about the company's recently type approved 16-inch Composite Cryogenic Hose (CCH), along with its sister 8-inch hose that was approved earlier this year.
The type approval testing program proved that the hose complies with relevant codes, such as the IMO IGC and relevant USCG and OCIMF standards and guidelines. Additionally, the hose underwent a 100 barg maximum pressure test using liquid nitrogen at cryogenic temperatures to demonstrate the hose's capabilities in liquefied petroleum gas transfer. The test results certified the 16-inch hose for a 20 barg working pressure.
Bluewater owns the rights to commercialize and market the Composite Cryogenic Hose for LNG transfer. With the approval of the 16-inch hose, Bluewater furthers its planned technological developments of the CCH technology.
"We are excited about the attention the hose has received so far, in particular from the major oil companies," Bluewater's President Hugo Heerema said.
