Data Technology Solutions is demonstrating its newest and most innovative communications technologies, along with its entire line of platforms for multi-line phone service, high speed internet, broadband or hybrid networks and direct TV.
The demonstrations include DTS's smallest VSAT antenna and the world's first satellite messenger.
The KVH V7 antenna has an 85% smaller footprint than standard VSAT antennas while providing always-on broadband data connections, multiple Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone lines, data rates up to 512 Kbps for ship-to-shore transmissions and as fast as 2 Mbps for shore-to-ship downloads. This is the newest addition to DTS's VSAT portfolio that is designed to facilitate offshore communications.
DTS also unveiled SPOT, the world's first satellite messenger. SPOT uses a GPS satellite network to receive its coordinates and send its location. The location sends via a message with a link to Google Maps through a commercial satellite network. The messenger provides reliable, global satellite communications.
OTC participants can also visit DTS's remote communications trailer. The trailer is a self-contained, mobile office that provides voice, internet and direct TV. During OTC, DTS will use the trailer to provide a free internet café.
