As part of its goal to become the leader in supplying pressure sensors, PRESNES AS brings new subsea pressure and sensor technology to OTC 2008 as it reveals the world's lightest subsea christmas tree sensor.
The sensor weighs 6.5 kilograms and has an accuracy and a one year drift better than 0.02% FS. With a natural tolerance for pressure spikes, PRESENS' new christmas tree sensors break in to the realm of pressure sensors with unparalleled solutions that will last the lifetimes of the fields they will be used on.
"We have combined mathematics, mechanics, electronics and over 250 years of experience in a way that optimizes uniquely the attributes of our core technology," PRESENS project manager Paal Vagle said. "The most striking features are the sensor's size and weight. Thanks to the mechanical design and assembly concept, we have reduced the sensor size and weight by almost 70% in comparison to other current solutions in the market."
"We are absolutely certain that we have developed a unique product that fills a large void in the market," Voula Terzoudi, business development manager for Oil & Gas, Global at PRESENS, said. "Although the product specification is to the highest requirements, the manufacturing costs are competitive."
PRESENS's new christmas tree sensor can be seen at OTC booth 5235 in the Norwegian Pavilion.
